From Manila by air
The most convenient routing to Boracay is to fly direct from Manila
to Caticlan, the airport closest to Boracay. The airport is located just
opposite Boracay on the neighbouring island of Panay. The flight
takes approximately one hour. We can arrange the flight bookings,
purchase the tickets and have them available for pick up at the
Domestic Airport in Manila. The cost is approximately USD85.00 per
adult, each way.
There are two carriers that fly between Manila and Caticlan on a
regular basis, with a total of approximately 20 flights per day. They
are small, local carriers using aircraft that seat twenty to fifty
passengers. These aircraft fly at approximately 9,000 feet and so the
flight is very scenic. During the high season, especially over
Christmas, Chinese New Year and Easter, advance booking is highly
recommended to guarantee a seat.
All internal flights, except Philippine Airlines, depart from the
Domestic Terminal which adjoins (Manila) Ninoy Aquino
International Airport. Allow a two and a half hour transfer period
between the time of landing at one airport section and departing the
other.
There are also jets that fly between Manila and Kalibo on a regular
basis and the cost for these flights is also approximately USD85.00
per person, each way. The aircraft used on this route are larger than
that used to fly to Caticlan, so this route is recommended if you do
not like medium sized aircraft. From Kalibo to Caticlan is a 1 1/2 hour
air conditioned bus ride through very scenic countryside directly to the
jetty port at Caticlan where boats depart frequently for the twenty
minute crossing to Boracay.
We can arrange the land and sea transfers from either Caticlan or
Kalibo Airport.

Boracay, as a magnificent national
marine preserve, is one of the most
popular Philippine dive areas in
Southeast Asia with currently
thirty state-of-the-art Boracay
dive schools offering the entire
range of Philippine scuba diving
activities from basic
demonstrations through to
advanced level certifications.
Borocay is a great Philippine scuba
diving holiday location, simply
because it combines a wide range
of Philippine dive tour activities
with one of the best beaches in the
world plus the numerous good
quality resorts, restaurants, bars
and night time events.
Most Boracay dive schools offer
P.A.D.I. courses in English plus
one or two additional languages.
On surveying the various languages
offered by the dive schools centred
around Nigi Nigi's Boracay Beach
Resort on White Beach we find
dive services and instruction in
English, French, Hebrew, German,
Korean, Japanese, Italian, Spanish
and Swedish. For safety reasons it
is preferable for beginners to
receive instruction in their mother
tongue. If you require detailed
information about Boracay scuba
diving courses conducted in a
language other than English, let
Nigi Nigi select the most suitable
dive school for you.
In order for non-divers to
experience the wonders of the
underwater world most schools
offer short P.A.D.I. Discover
Scuba Diving Introductory plus
Beginner's Open Water Courses.
White Beach, with its warm
tranquil waters and gentle sandy
slope, is the ideal place for those
first training sessions followed by
shallow yet exhilarating dives to
the local coral reefs, where the
student can enjoy the vast richness
of tropical reef life, while still
training within a calm protected
environment. The Discover Scuba
Diving program is purely an
introductory course completed
within one day, with
intro-lectures, video, shallow water
equipment demonstration followed
by the first chaperoned dive. For
beginners wishing to proceed to
the first level P.A.D.I.
certification, all schools offer 4 day
Open Water Courses (O.W.),
which is the most recognized
international certification. The
O.W. course includes thorough
equipment familiarization and
basic scuba diving techniques and
includes extensive lectures and
three to four adventurous dives
designed to progressively increase
the skill level of the student. For
those wishing to upgrade their
P.A.D.I. certification level the
Boracay scuba diving schools offer
the full range of P.A.D.I. courses
from Advanced level to Instructor
training programs.
For certified divers Boracay and its
surroundings offer a wide variety
of dive excursions including
spectacular coral gardens, deep
wall drop-offs, drift and night
dives. With a well planned dive
schedule a qualified diver can
complete up to four exciting dives
a day. To expand your diving
enjoyment many Boracay scuba
diving schools offer overnight dive
safaris to the surrounding islands,
each with unique underwater
treasures making Boracay Island a
premier center for Philippine scuba
diving and a great Philippine
vacation.
